Ecochlor Expands Service Team in Southeast Asia

Mr. Oh has more than eleven years of involvement in the maritime industry both in shipbuilding and in project management of vessel repairs and retrofits. Prior to Ecochlor, he was Field Service Manager at Emerson Process Management Marine Solutions. He also acted as Assistant Manager of Green Technologies for Sembcorp Marine with responsibilities that included the technical review of retrofits.

“We are expanding our Singapore Services Hub with increased chemical storage capabilities, engineering service support and spare parts network,” said Michael Madely, VP, Global Service. “Situated in Singapore, Mr. Oh is crucial to our growth in this area along with developing strong relationships with our service partners in Japan and Korea. He has a wealth of managerial and technical experience in ballast water management system (BWMS) project management which is central to the support of our teams and customers in Southeast Asia.”

Mr. Oh added, “My background in both shipyard retrofits and in project management of BWMS installations will be of great assistance to both our service engineers and in providing a real-time response to our clients. I am excited to bring my experience to this “best in class” service support team!”

Mr. Oh has a Masters in Offshore Technology with Subsea Engineering and a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from the National University of Singapore.

… Dongju (DJ) Cho, Ecochlor’s Regional Business Development Manager in South Korea and Mr. Theofilis, Ecochlor Service Engineer were visited by a “Korean Ghost” at the Korean Folk Village.

Mr. Theofilis, located in Greece, joined DJ in South Korea to commission the SLNC Pax retrofit at Orient Shipyard and the Maran Aspasia newbuild at Daehan Shipbuilding Corporation. Ecochlor travels the world to provide “best in class” service for our clients!

 

Ecochlor Expands Service Support Network in Singapore

Ecochlor ships USD 117,000 spare parts

Michael, Madely, VP of Global Service at Ecochlor is excited to reveal the first of many planned locations for Ecochlor’s spare parts support network outside the United States. “Having an inventory of spare parts located in Singapore will provide a faster response time to all vessels in Asia with our system on board. Our goal is to have parts located in the three main time zones – Asia, Europe and the USA – in an effort to provide real-time response to our customers’ requirements for maximum system operation with minimum downtime,” said Mr. Madely.

Ecochlor has just completed the shipment of more than USD 117,000 in spare parts to Singapore to better support clients in Asia during installations and service calls for their vessel’s ballast water management system (BWMS).

Ecochlor’s global growth and strong after-sale service support programs are a big factor in the company’s continued success in the BWMS industry.

Job Opening at Ecochlor for Technical Documentation Specialist

We are looking for a Technical Documentation Specialist to join the Ecochlor Service Team!

Ecochlor is a Ballast Water Management System manufacturer that provides installation support and after sales service to customers that own and operate commercial vessels around the world.

Duties for the Technical Documentation Specialist will include, but are not limited to:

  • Processing of incoming customer claims
  • Detailed analysis of the issues and recommendations for resolution
  • Root cause analysis
  • Compiling and reporting on commonly seen issues
  • Documentation and processing of suggested design changes
  • Processing of other incoming data and documentation from vessels and service personnel, such as operational data and issue tracking
  • Assist with population and build out of a recently adopted ERP as it relates to the service department
  • Any other tasks as and when assigned by management

This is a salary position and is based out of our offices in North Haven, Connecticut USA.

Preferred qualifications and skills include, but are not limited to:

  • College degree or equivalent related experience
  • At least 5 years of related working experience, preferably with field service and/or technical areas
  • Should approach any job in a structured and well-organized manner and have good organizational capabilities
  • Working experience in Marine industry is preferred
  • Ability to interface with both technical and non-technical personnel
  • Must have excellent English communication skills, both spoken and written
  • Competent in Microsoft Office
  • Experience in ERP or other database style systems preferred
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Proactive, multi-tasked, quick hand and willing to learn
  • Continuous improvement mindset
  • Suitable data processing and excellent document control skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Good team player with good attitude, integrity, interpersonal, organization and time management skills
