Ecochlor Systems Type Approved to Capacities up to 16,000 m3/hr

Ecochlor, Inc. announced today that it has received IMO Type Approval for its full line of Ballast Water Treatment Systems (BWTS) with capacities up to 16,000 m3/hr from the Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency (BSH) of Germany. This completes the international approvals of all of Ecochlor’s Systems and confirms that they fully comply with the 2004 IMO International Convention for the Control and Management of Ship’s Ballast Water and Sediments.

Ecochlor Shipboard Tests – All Zeros

Shipboard tests prove, once again, that nothing survives the Ecochlor® Ballast Water Treatment process. Three test cycles were performed on the bulk carrier, M/V Moku Pahu, in California between July, 2010 and February, 2011 by internationally recognized scientists from GoConsult of Hamburg, Germany. With these results, Ecochlor has now conducted ten consecutive test cycles – land-based and shipboard – over the last two years with no surviving organisms, therefore proving that our systems meet proposed US requirements of 100x IMO standards.
